There is no time quite like winter in Český Krumlov. I created this 3-hour journey to immerse you in the true spirit of a Bohemian Christmas—or Vánoce, as we call it. We'll go beyond the markets to discover the local rituals, the ancient legends, and the heartwarming flavors that define our holiday season. Let me show you why this is the most enchanting time of year in my hometown.

A Traditional Christmas Feast

I'll host you in one of my favorite cozy local settings for a true Czech holiday meal.

• The Warmest Welcome: We'll start by warming up instantly with a steaming cup of my favorite Hot Mulled Wine.

• The Christmas Eve Classic: You'll savor the traditional holiday dish—a Fried Carp Cutlet served with our famous creamy Czech Potato Salad and festive, honey-spiced gingerbread (Perníčky).

  • Note: If carp isn't for you, don't worry! I have full menu flexibility to suit your taste.

• Sharing Our Secrets: While we eat, I'll share the legends of Ježíšek (our "Baby Jesus" figure) and we'll participate in authentic fortune-telling rituals, like the traditional apple cutting.

Festive Castle & Town Exploration

• Inside the Little Castle: I'll lead you through the oldest castle interiors, where we'll admire the lavish porcelain collections away from the winter chill.

• The Twinkling View: We'll ascend the Castle Tower together. From the top, you'll have a breathtaking bird's-eye view of the town glowing with Christmas lights and festive markets.

• Holiday Highlights: We'll visit the serene St. Vitus Church, see the unique Bear Nativity Scene, and walk the historic Cloak Bridge under the winter stars.

• A Market Stroll: We'll wander through Latrán Street and the Artists' Alley, soaking up the atmosphere of the Svornosti Square markets.

• Walking Conditions: Český Krumlov is famous for its charming but uneven medieval cobblestones. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes.

• Dietary Requirements: If you have specific dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, or nut allergies) regarding the cheese platter, please inform us at least 24 hours in advance so we can prepare a suitable alternative.
